The Presidente' had a luncheon with top republican lawmakers today regarding the recently defunct immigration bill. I will be interested to see just what in the way of changes they could offer to resurrect this bad piece of legislation. I agree with our top politician that reform is needed, I differ that it involves allowing 12 million illegal immigrants a path to citizenship that will be nothing more than a bureaucratic nightmare. The rest of legislation is tolerable…. If not wordy, well what can you expect from a Senator named Kennedy anyhow?
What the hell is so difficult and politically incorrect about building a fence anyhow? I have a fence around my yard. Military installations have fences; even the White House has a fence. And these fences are here just to keep fellow Americans out. I mean Lord help us for wanting a fence to keep “illegal people” out. It just makes no sense. It’s not about race, it’s about security. It’s about securing our borders to keep out the small percentage of border crossers that do not have our best interest at heart.
It’s just too bad we didn’t have a fence back when NAFTA (aka SHAFTA) was approved….. Maybe that would have kept Ford and GM from getting out…..
