How Long Do We Have?
"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government."
"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury."
"From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."
"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years"
"During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage"
Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:
Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29
Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13 Republicans: 2
Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..." Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.
If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message. If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

Inside the Numbers
In 2008 we had 32% GOP, 39% DEM, and 29% IND that made up the popular vote. The total popular vote being 122,698,661.
A total difference of 1,629,946 between the two presidential elections.
In 2004 Bush turned out 93% of the GOP, 11% DEM, and 48% IND. Kerry had 6% GOP, 89% DEM, and 49% IND. George Bush lost the independent vote by 1%, but turned out the GOP by 4% more than Kerry. Also the total amount of self identified GOP was the same as the DEMS.
In 2008 McCain had 90% of the GOP, 10% DEM, and 44% IND. Obama had 89% of the DEMS, 9% GOP, and 52% of the IND. Obama won by 6 percentage points based off these clear facts. The total GOP vote was only 32% of the vote which is 5% less than Bush had in 2004.
Where we go now
Obama is going to find it difficult to make good on any of his promises given the deepening financial problems in this country. His first two years will produce little or nothing, he will spend it dodging anything that will tarnish his reputation and hyping the few menial accomplishments that he can get enacted. At the same time he will be just like Bill Clinton was, in a continual campaign mode for 2012.
Pelosi and Reid will drag him to left on every domestic issue. The offshore drilling ban will be reenacted and gas prices will rise. They will throw more money into the market in vain attempts to stem the looming credit crisis which will set the table for zero growth, stagflation, double digit unemployment and a deep recession.
I don't see them having the stones to raises taxes overtly by legislative act, but they will allow the tax cuts Bush passed to expire in 2010. These will result in high tax rates for every taxpayer either directly or indirectly. This alone will hurt any chance of seeing an economic upturn by 2012.
The DOD, JCS and General Petraeus will drag him to the right on Iraq and Iran. He will find himself in a peculiar spot of having to privately admit to himself that Bush was correct once he is exposed to the same intelligence. This is the point the Anti War types will turn against him. He will not withdraw from Iraq and be forced by conscience to expand the conflict in Afghanistan.
Throughout all of this the democrats will continue to blame every new crisis on the Bush Administration, but by 2010 that line will be threadbare given they are in complete control. And all those unmarried women that voted in droves for Obama, will begin to question him once they loose their jobs and their "hope", and begin to see for the first time "real change".
Right now we are a country with a weakening economy and a strong President. On January 20th 2009, we will be a a country with a weaker economy and an untested novice as a President. A very dangerous combination. Imagine these very possible scenarios;
The Israelis having no faith in the United States, attack Iran with a Nuclear weapon.
Putin makes good on the rumors, recaptures governmental control of the Russian Federation and embarks on an expansionist spree, invading the Ukraine.
Hugo Chavez makes a bid to expand his control into Cuba or sees a window to strike at the Columbians.
Kim Jong Il is found to be dead and that the North Korean military is in control. Japan strikes them touching off a firestorm with the Chinese.
Tensions between Pakistan and the US sour further and reignite long standing issues between themselves and India...... The list is endless.
Just one of these would worsen economic troubles in this nation, two or more could destroy it. If the actions taken by the Oval Office are perceived as weak or ineffective. It would embolden other enemies of this nation to make provocative moves seeing that the United States was too weakened to intervene.
Horrible as these seem, there are two others that would be worse in my opinion because they would directly lead to lose of American lives.
First, Imagine this news bulletin in the next year or so "President Obama assassinated by white man from Alabama". The ensuing racial and political outrage could possibly ignite the bloodiest days this nation has seen since the Civil War at worst, or at best cement such polarization into the national political fabric that blood could be the only long term recourse.
Lastly, Let us not forget that we have a very patient and very dangerous foe intently observing our every move. And what better way to destroy the "Great Satan" then to aid in its own self destruction. Suppose if, just if, Hamas, Hezbollah, or Al Queda were the ones behind the aforementioned assassination. Playing off the racial tensions of nation in order to achieve their goal of marginalizing this nations dwindling influence. Throw in major attack on LA and the seeds of our nations destruction would be sown.
I used to think that this nation could absorb a direct attack against it, Tuesday confirmed in me its less likely to. It wasn't an election, it was an episode of American Idol. It wasn't won by the one with the most qualifications, but the one that had the most public appeal, and the best press agents. It was the culmination of years of exposure to the "Hollywood Culture". Popularity and style over chracter and substance.
It confirmed in me just how devoid of commonsense and patience, how spoiled, and how intellectually lazy this nation has become. And just how few Americans know and understand what a gift was given to us by the men who wrote the Constitution and the untold millions that have defended it sense.
Ask yourself, when is the last time you read it, can you still recite its Preamble? Do you even know what a Preamble is? Ask your children the same, the answer will frighten you. But now is not the time for fear, now is the time to prepare and be informed.
Until we as a nation can understand and defend the core values instilled into it by those who founded it, this downward spiral will continue. And, "a nation of the people, for the people, and by the people" will become nothing but words spoken by some guy a long time ago.
There are 65 million of us may not understand that, the good news is that 57 million of us who do. At a campaign stop Obama challenged his supporters to "get vocal to speak out", notice he never asked them educate themselves before doing so.
My challenge is just that, educate yourself, read "our" Constitution, don't rely on people to interpret it for you. Learn "our" history from those who made it, Adams, Jefferson, Washington, Hamilton, Madison, Lincoln, not from a historian who maybe attempting to rewrite it.
Do this and decide for yourself if we have lost our way. Hopefully you will see just how intelligent and forward thinking our Founding Fathers were. It is difficult to know we aren't heading the right direction if you don't know what that direction is.
And finally when the next election comes, vote, vote your concious. Let me ask you, are you so busy that you can't exercise the most important right that you have. We shouldn't have to be told or bribed with free mechandise, we should view it as our solemn duty. A duty we shouldn't take lightly, but seriously, and exercised often as required.

Godspeed "W" you deserved better.....
According to recent Gallup polls, the president's average approval rating is below 30% -- down from his 90% approval in the wake of 9/11. Mr. Bush has endured relentless attacks from the left while facing abandonment from the right.
This is the price Mr. Bush is paying for trying to work with both Democrats and Republicans. During his 2004 victory speech, the president reached out to voters who supported his opponent, John Kerry, and said, "Today, I want to speak to every person who voted for my opponent. To make this nation stronger and better, I will need your support, and I will work to earn it. I will do all I can do to deserve your trust."
Those bipartisan efforts have been met with crushing resistance from both political parties.
The president's original Supreme Court choice of Harriet Miers alarmed Republicans, while his final nomination of Samuel Alito angered Democrats. His solutions to reform the immigration system alienated traditional conservatives, while his refusal to retreat in Iraq has enraged liberals who have unrealistic expectations about the challenges we face there.
It seems that no matter what Mr. Bush does, he is blamed for everything. He remains despised by the left while continuously disappointing the right.
Yet it should seem obvious that many of our country's current problems either existed long before Mr. Bush ever came to office, or are beyond his control. Perhaps if Americans stopped being so divisive, and congressional leaders came together to work with the president on some of these problems, he would actually have had a fighting chance of solving them.
Like the president said in his 2004 victory speech, "We have one country, one Constitution and one future that binds us. And when we come together and work together, there is no limit to the greatness of America."
To be sure, Mr. Bush is not completely alone. His low approval ratings put him in the good company of former Democratic President Harry S. Truman, whose own approval rating sank to 22% shortly before he left office. Despite Mr. Truman's low numbers, a 2005 Wall Street Journal poll found that he was ranked the seventh most popular president in history.
Just as Americans have gained perspective on how challenging Truman's presidency was in the wake of World War II, our country will recognize the hardship President Bush faced these past eight years -- and how extraordinary it was that he accomplished what he did in the wake of the September 11 attacks.
The treatment President Bush has received from this country is nothing less than a disgrace. The attacks launched against him have been cruel and slanderous, proving to the world what little character and resolve we have. The president is not to blame for all these problems. He never lost faith in America or her people, and has tried his hardest to continue leading our nation during a very difficult time.
Our failure to stand by the one person who continued to stand by us has not gone unnoticed by our enemies. It has shown to the world how disloyal we can be when our president needed loyalty -- a shameful display of arrogance and weakness that will haunt this nation long after Mr. Bush has left the White House.

Ol Fred has it Right
I just wanted to take this time to thank you for everything you have done for me the past two years. With what is going on with Congress I unfortunately will not be able to retire because I have lost thousands of dollars in my retirement fund and had to sell my house for about $80,000 less that what it was worth two years ago.
I know the media and many politicians are quick to blame our current President but here are the facts as I know them...and if I am wrong, please feel free to corrected them.
George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine. A little over one year ago:
Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
Unemployment rate was 4.5%;
The DOW JONES hit a record high-14,000 +
American's were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large! But American's wanted CHANGE! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress and yes--we got CHANGE all right and you were in charge. In the PAST YEAR:
Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing;
Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase);
Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS and prices still dropping; 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
As I write, THE DOW is probing another low~$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS
EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT
PORTFOLIOS!
YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE...AND WE SURE GOT IT!
Everyone keeps blaming the President, but he has absolutely NO CONTROL over any of these issues...only Congress - and you are in charge!!!!
Looking at the record to determine what Congress has done the past two years, you've done NOTHING but destroy the lives of hard working Americans.
You've lied to the public and you are a disgrace to what this Country stands for. I fought for our FREEDOM, spending 34 years in the United States Air Force, and I'm not going to give up that FREEDOM to the idiots in Congress in Washington who think they are "in charge."
Please note that I didn't once mention Democrat or Republican...Conservative or Liberal (until this paragraph)! It doesn't make any difference what party is in charge, Washington is SCREWING the Americans and it has to STOP!!!!!
You'll notice if you go to my website link www.the-rosenthal-group.com my business evolves around waste and recycling. Our goal is to cut back the waste and recycle as much material as possible. Seems to me I could expand our business to include wasteful politicians and recycle them in November.
I've saved businesses millions of dollars with our program...TURNING WASTE GREEN...think it would work in Washington?

The Real Deal
So who is to blame? There's plenty of blame to go around, and it doesn't fasten only on one party or even mainly on what Washington did or didn't do. As The Economist magazine noted recently, the problem is one of "layered irresponsibility ... with hard-working homeowners and billionaire villains each playing a role." Here's a partial list of those alleged to be at fault:
The Federal Reserve, which slashed interest rates after the dot-com bubble burst, making credit cheap.
Home buyers, who took advantage of easy credit to bid up the prices of homes excessively.
Congress, which continues to support a mortgage tax deduction that gives consumers a tax incentive to buy more expensive houses.
Real estate agents, most of whom work for the sellers rather than the buyers and who earned higher commissions from selling more expensive homes.
The Clinton administration, which pushed for less stringent credit and downpayment requirements for working- and middle-class families.
Mortgage brokers, who offered less-credit-worthy home buyers subprime, adjustable rate loans with low initial payments, but exploding interest rates.
Former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan, who in 2004, near the peak of the housing bubble, encouraged Americans to take out adjustable rate mortgages.
Wall Street firms, who paid too little attention to the quality of the risky loans that they bundled into Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS), and issued bonds using those securities as
collateral.
The Bush administration, which failed to provide needed government oversight of the increasingly dicey mortgage-backed securities market.
An obscure accounting rule called mark-to-market, which can have the paradoxical result of making assets be worth less on paper than they are in reality during times of panic.
Collective delusion, or a belief on the part of all parties that home prices would keep rising
forever, no matter how high or how fast they had already gone up.
The U.S. economy is enormously complicated. Screwing it up takes a great deal of cooperation. Claiming that a single piece of legislation was responsible for (or could have averted) is just political grandstanding. We have no advice to offer on how best to solve the financial crisis. But these sorts of partisan caricatures can only make the task more difficult.
–by Joe Miller and Brooks Jackson
Good Lord John!
So with this in mind John McCain votes yea on this Bailout, excuse me, Rescue Bill. This the man that abhors spending but is willing to agree to the largest spending bill of them all. John, my friend, your message is mixed.
I understand that you believe this credit crisis is a real risk to our economy, I agree with you. I as your supporter just don't understand fully, why you would abandon what you call a core principle.
I understand that under this current system compromise is necessary. It is saddening however that you find yourself in this position. I know you are a good man and you not I have seen the evidence. Having that perspective you voted your conscience. This I don't doubt.
I just unnerves me that it is also the way Obama voted, and opposite to the conservatives and Joe Liebermann. It raises the question why? John? Did you listen to Jeffery Miron's arguments.... I have.

Crisis.?.
Everyone of them were damaging to the republicans, and everyone of them hit full media stride immediately before election day. How convenient, and just how big of a crisis is this? If you listen to we Americans, 80% of us are convinced it isn't a big enough crisis in order to spend 700 billion dollars worth of money the government doesn't have.
So is it? There are at least 168 economists who wrote a letter to congress that don't believe it is large enough a crisis in order to warrant a bail out. And one day after posting a -777 point loss the the bargain hunters prowled the market driving the gains to nearly 500 points today. So what the hell is going on?
One thing that I do know is that democrats are wasting no time getting to a microphone and in order to blame the administration, and the media echo chamber is in overdrive.... Its an election year folks.

Leno?!?
"The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 per cent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the president. In essence 2/3s of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change.
So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, ''What we are so unhappy about? ''
Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Is
our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter? Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job? Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?
Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state? Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter? I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even
send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.
Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family and your belongings. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes , an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack
or loss. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90 percent of teenagers own cell phones and computers.
How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world? Maybe that is what has 67 percent of you folks unhappy.
Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has e ver seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but
complain about what we don't have , and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.
I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks?
The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me? Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad?
Think about it......are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the "Media" told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.
Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go.
They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an ''other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable'' discharge after a few days in the brig.
So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans? Say what you want but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they speciali ze in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids se lling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells, and when criticized, try to defend their actions by "justifying" them in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it this way......Insane!
Stop buying the negativism you are fed everyday by the media. Shut off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There is exponentially more good than bad.
We are among the most blessed peoples on Earth and should thank God several times a
day, or at least be thankful and appreciative."
"With hurricanes,tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, "Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"

Straight Talk.....
Obama made his position clear, "draw nigh unto me and I (with the help of taxpayer dollars, especially those from evil rich people) will make all your troubles fade away. Seriously folks has anything the federal government done or didn't do ever impacted you financially. I hear many pundits ruminate about the 1990's how great the economy was and how the world was a much better place with Bill Clinton in the oval office. I would sure like someone to explain to me if things were so spectacular, why it was for me the worst finacial period of my life. My point is this, the vast majority our money problems are self-inflicted. Bill Clinton didn't cause my money troubles, I did.
To me personally, the economy is not that important. Money comes and money goes, I've had lots of it, lost all of it and repeated the cycle. Trust me money isn't the center of the life, and their isn't anything that these two men can do to fix your money trouble no matter how many shiny new entitlement programs Obama promises or spending cuts McCain promises. If you disagree, you need some help alright, but not economically.
The real debate is which of these two men will make the best Commander in Chief. Which man can best protect this nation from enemies foreign and domestic. Which man will best protect the constitution of this nation. It is a solemn decision, and one that needs to be made devoid of bias. It is the most important choice we make in our lifes, and we should remember it is a priviledge to do it.

Boycott Bull
Exxon/Mobil business is exploration, drilling, and oil production. The companies that refine oil to gasoline are their customers not us. And those are not the type of customers that will boycott them. Even if they did the oil market is global, if one or even twenty American refiners did so it would be a drop in the bucket when you take into consideration the demand from markets in China and India. The foreign refiners would actually benefit from a drop in demand in the US, it would leave more oil on the world market for them to refine and sell to their customers..... and guess what Exxon/Mobil will be happy to sell them the oil.
I'm getting a little bored with Americans that spend every waking moment complaining over the price of food, the price of gas, the price of housing. Be honest, when is the last time you went to a gas pump and found it empty, or wasn't able to buy your favorite brand of breakfast cereal at the store?
It is time that we Americans stop acting like spoiled rotten brats, we are the minority when it comes to having simple comforts available to us. There are billions of people on this planet that exist with less and long for more. Even the poorest of this country are far better off than many tens of millions around the world. How many homes of poor folks in this nation are without TV's, Playstations and DVD players? Let alone electricity or phone service. Get real folks.
Which reminds me.....someone want to tell me how in this recession riddled economy its people were able to spend 540 billion dollars on the "Grand Theft Auto 4" videogame????
I know these "put pressure on big oil" schemes seem logical but they really aren't. If we as Americans want to really do something how about starting with the 500+ idiotic congress men and women in Washington DC who's answer to high gasoline prices was to try to pass a windfall profits tax bill that would have increased the price of gasoline.
Write them, e-mail them, become a nuisance to them, and vote the morons who don't hear us out. Tell them "Hey idiots in DC, while your posturing and playing politics it just cost me $100 to fill my truck. How about you morons stop impeding and start helping the only people that can help us..... the OIL COMPANIES! Help them and encourage them to DRILL, DRILL, and DRILL SOME MORE!" Lets find our own oil and stop relying on nations who are not our friends.
And I could give a damn if some Hollywood celebrity has to look at an oil rig off the beach of their multimillion dollar Malibu mansion. The fact is until the viable replacement for fossil fuel is found we need to find as much of it as we can. If we don't another nation will. We have the Chinese at this very moment drilling for oil 60 miles off the coast of Florida.... but because of our intelligent lawmakers our own oil companies prohibited from drilling there.
The majority of our imported oil comes from Canada, that's right Canada. They get it from the oil sands in Alberta, we have even larger deposits of oil sands in Montana and North Dakota than the Canadians but because of ignorant environmental regulations we can't develop them even though large tracts of the land in question is privately held.
Something is wrong with all this folks and its not going to get better until Americans do what those in generations past have...... roll up our sleeves and fix it. Quit crying, stop pointing fingers, cowboy up and FIX IT.....where is John Wayne when we need him?
